As members of our Teacher Leader Consortium, teachers will tour high performing charter schools and directly learn from their teacher leaders.

They will have the opportunity to visit classrooms and see better practices in motion and ask the teacher leaders as principal about how they implemented and lessons learned.

They will benefit from proximity to other good leaders, and they will learn how to increase their proximity to others on their own.

The first training session is focused on personal leadership through their DISC Profile, as we sometimes fail to understand that the most difficult person to lead is ourselves.

Each participant will be taken through their DISC personality profile, learn about their communication styles, and identifying how their personality impacts how they lead themselves and are perceived by others through their DISC personality profile.

The second face to face session is our Coaching Skills for Leaders training. During this half day session teacher leaders will learn the foundations of becoming a highly skilled coach. How to build rapport, ask questions and bring the best from those they are leading to become better in their position.

This is critical as teachers are being asked to provide feedback, observe teachers, mentor and lead critical initiatives throughout the school. I believe you cannot lead, you cannot influence if you do not know how to coach. Each participant will learn how to have formal in informal coaching conversations in all aspects of their life.

In between the two face to face sessions our team will host a series of webinars focused on the most critical aspects of being a teacher leader.

Mentorship 101: Many mentor mentee relationships start on the wrong foot, mainly because neither of them are 100% sure what their role is in the relationship. We will equip your teacher leads to be powerful mentors and build a mentorship program in your school.

Leading Effective Meetings: You are asking your teachers to lead critical meetings, but have you ever made sure they know how to lead effective meetings? Most people lead meetings the way they experience meetings, which is not typically very productive. Each wasted minute that goes by, is wasted revenue, credibility and time for each of those sitting around the table.

Dealing with Difficult People: Let’s face it, everyday there is a battle between the plan and the culture. And those that are on the front lines are not typically equipped or confident to have difficult conversations with difficult people. Most see it not as their job. We will provide them with practice opportunities and scripts to handle the most challenging behaviors by adults.

In addition to these live sessions, each member will have access to previously recorded leadership lessons on characteristics of effective charter schools, 5 Levels of Listening, How to ask effective questions, self-leadership, time management, and presentation skills...how to influence your peers and speak in front of large audiences.

There are two ways you can register, as a single person or as a cohort of four. Our next cohort kicks off in a short time and seating is very limited.

The TLC is based on the fact that 90% of learners will transfer a new skill into their practice as a result of theory, demonstration, practice, feedback during the training, institution coaching and mentoring.

As a learner, there is no substitute for participating and having access to people who know what they're doing, can direct you, and can give you feedback. This can only occur through proximity.

I am inviting you, teacher leader to come sit at our leadership table...or you principal, to invest in your top teacher leaders. Remember, teachers are always seeking to climb a ladder...If you do not invest in them. They will find an organization that will!
